Posted Date: 2024-02-01

2024Year1moon29News from Munich, Germany, and Malta, New York, USA]Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) and GlobalFoundries (Nasdaq: GFS) recently announced an agreement on Infineon’s AURIX TC3x 40nm automotive microcontrollers and power management and connectivity The solution was to enter into a new multi-year supply agreement. The locking in of this new capacity will help meet Infineon’s business growth needs from 2024 to 2030.

Infineon and GF have been collaborating since 2013 to develop differentiated automotive, industrial and security semiconductor technologies and products. The collaboration focuses on high-reliability embedded non-volatile memory (eNVM) technology solutions, which are ideal for mission-critical automotive applications and can meet the stringent functional safety and security requirements of next-generation automotive systems. Information Security Requirements. Infineon's flagship microcontroller family, AURIX, drives the automotive industry's transition to autonomous driving, intelligent connectivity and electric vehicles.

Rutger Wijburg, Chief Operating Officer of Infineon Technologies

Dr. Rutger Wijburg, Chief Operating Officer of Infineon Technologies, said: "This long-term agreement allows Infineon to further strengthen its supply capabilities of semiconductor solutions and continue to promote the process of low carbonization and digitalization. With the increasing demand for semiconductors in automotive applications , our goal is to provide high-quality microcontrollers with strong connectivity and advanced security. The automotive industry is transforming towards fully electric, fully connected and user-centric autonomous vehicles. In this process, our AURIX Microcontrollers are key to building reliable automotive electronics."

Niels Anderskouv, chief commercial officer at GLOBALFOUNDRIES

Niels Anderskouv, chief commercial officer at GF, said: "This latest agreement ensures that Infineon will continue to be a major long-term customer for us in multiple regions, especially in Europe, which has always regarded the automotive industry as an important driver of innovation and economic growth. This highlights Recognizing the importance of a global production footprint, it allows us to work with our customers to meet their capacity needs wherever they need them. By partnering with Infineon, we bring this to the automotive industry across two continents. Differentiated product and technology innovation, and this long-term agreement also provides Infineon with more production capacity and helps it improve supply chain flexibility."
