Level Shifter (LS) is a device often used in SOC design. Its main function is to switch digital signals from one voltage domain to another.

With the development of automobile electrification and intelligence, automobile electronic systems are becoming more and more complex, and there are more and more communications between various functional modules.

The main control chip manufactured by advanced technology can only output digital logic levels in the low-voltage domain, while the controlled end can only receive digital logic levels in the high-voltage domain due to process limitations. Therefore, a level is usually required between the two. converter.

DIA7B104 is a 4-channel level converter that automatically senses the transmission direction. It can automatically sense the transmission direction of the signal without the need for a transmission direction control pin. The device has a lower operating voltage (1.08V) and a higher conversion rate ( The highest speed is 100Mbps) and smaller power consumption. By using two independent power rails, the DIA7B104 can achieve any bidirectional level translation between 1.2V-5V voltage nodes.

The working state of the device is controlled by the input enable terminal EN. When EN is low level, the internal circuit is turned off and all inputs and outputs are placed in a high-impedance state. DIA7B104 uses a buffer architecture, which adopts a one-shot solution to increase the conversion rate. This device is suitable for converting push-pull CMOS logic outputs.


In automotive smart cockpits, ADAS and Tbox systems, the interface levels of mainstream SOCs are mostly 1.8V or even 1.2V, while the interface levels of other functional devices such as MCU, DSP, Wifi are still mostly 3.3V or even 5V. These interfaces include UART/SPI/I2S/GPIO, etc. In order to ensure that the levels of both communication parties match, a level converter must be used.

1.Support low port voltage

SOC products are mostly manufactured with advanced processes and have very low interface logic levels. At present, the common voltage is 1.8V or even 1.2V, which requires the level converter to support very low logic level conversion. DIA7B104 adopts a unique structure and supports the port voltage as low as 1.08V, which can fully meet the 1.2V interface level application and expand the scope of customer applications.

2. Support high-speed and low-latency level conversion

The DIA7B104 device has one-shot inside, which can improve the level conversion rate and reduce data transmission delay. Under the condition of VCCA=3.3V, the data rate can support up to 100Mbps. Under the condition of VCCA=1.8V, the maximum data rate can also support 55Mbps. DIA7B104 supports push-pull CMOS logic output, which can meet the level conversion requirements of most communication interfaces.

3. Low power consumption

DIA7B104 adopts a unique circuit design, and the maximum static power consumption of the device is only 1uA, which is very suitable for systems with strict power consumption requirements.

The auto-sensing direction voltage converter features a dual power supply configuration. It can be widely used in bidirectional signal level conversion between GPIO, SPI, UART, JTAG, and I2S interfaces in automotive systems.

DIA7B104 is available for automotive grade applications and industrial grade applications, with TSSOP-14, QFN-14 and QFN-12 package options.
