SIA: International semiconductor gross sales up 0.3% MoM in April
Jun 8, 2023 /SemiMedia/ — Based on the most recent report from the Semiconductor Trade Affiliation (SIA), world semiconductor business gross sales totaled $40.0 billion in April 2023, up 0.3% from the $39.8 billion complete in March 2023 and down 21.6% from the $50.9 billion complete in April 2022.

“The worldwide semiconductor market stays in a cyclical downturn, exacerbated by sluggish macroeconomic situations, however month-to-month gross sales ticked up for the second consecutive month in April, maybe foreshadowing a continued rebound within the months forward,” stated John Neuffer, SIA president and CEO. “The most recent business forecast tasks a double-digit dip in world chip gross sales for 2023, adopted by a powerful rebound in 2024.”
Regionally, month-to-month gross sales in April elevated in China (2.9%) and Japan (0.9%), however decreased in Europe (-0.6%), the Americas (-1.0%), and Asia Pacific/All Different (-1.1%). 12 months-to-year gross sales in April have been up in Europe (2.3%), however down in Japan (-2.3%), the Americas (-20.5%), Asia Pacific/All Different (-23.9%), and China (-31.4%).
