LED display (Light Emitting Diode Display) is a display device that uses light-emitting diodes (LEDs) as display elements. It has the characteristics of high brightness, bright colors, low energy consumption and long life, and is widely used in the field of electronic information display.

1. Principle and structure of LED display screen

  1. Light emitting diode (LED) principle:
    LEDs are made of different semiconductor materials (such as AlGaInP, GaN, etc.) and radiate light through the recombination of carriers. The reason why LEDs show different colors is because of the different energy band structures of their semiconductor materials.
  2. LED display structure:
    The LED display screen consists of a lattice matrix composed of multiple light-emitting diodes, and each light-emitting diode is called a pixel. According to the color of the light-emitting diodes, LED displays can be divided into three types: single color, double color and full color.

Monochrome LED display: can only display a single color, usually red or green;
Dual-color LED display: displays multiple colors by controlling the brightness and combination of red and green light-emitting diodes, the most common ones are red and green;
Full-color LED display: It is composed of three colors of red, green and blue light-emitting diodes. Rich colors can be mixed by controlling the brightness and combination of light-emitting diodes of different colors.

LED display screen usually consists of the following parts:
(1) Panel: It is the front part that displays images and text;
(2) Control system: Responsible for receiving and decoding input image and text signals, and controlling the content displayed on the LED display screen;
(3) Driver board: responsible for converting input image and text signals into signals that control the LED light-emitting diodes to turn on and off;
(4) Power supply: Provide the power required for the display screen and its control system;
(5) Auxiliary equipment: such as radiators, waterproof covers, etc.

2. Contents on the LED display screen

  1. Control system settings and adjustments:
    Users can change the content on the LED display through the control system. The control system is generally operated through computer software, mobile terminal APP or special controller. Through these tools, users can select text, pictures, videos and other content to be displayed, type, edit and set display effects.
  2. Data transfer and input:
    Users can transmit the content to be displayed to the control system via wired or wireless means. Wired methods usually use network cables, serial ports, high-definition multimedia interfaces, etc. for data transmission, while wireless methods may use Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, infrared and other protocols for data transmission.
  3. Display content and effect settings:
    On the software platform of the control system, users can edit and set the content to be displayed. Users can choose the font, color, size, etc. of the text to be displayed, add dynamic effects, set the display time, etc.
  4. Control command transmission and execution:
    According to the content and effects set by the user on the control system, the control system sends control commands to the LED display through the driver board. The driver board parses these commands and controls the LED on and off according to the control commands to switch the content on the display screen.
    The LED display screen realizes content replacement through the control system and driver board. Users can set and edit through the control system, transfer the content to be displayed to the control system, and then control the on and off of the LED light-emitting diodes through the driver board to switch the content. This process involves multiple steps such as data transmission, input, display content and effect settings, and control command transmission and execution.
