Control circuit and processor: The RFID reader has a built-in control circuit and processor for controlling the operation and data processing of the device. It can parse the received RFID tag information and convert it into readable data.
Interfaces and connections: RFID readers usually have various interfaces and connection options to exchange data with other devices. Common interfaces include serial port, Ethernet, USB, etc. Through these interfaces, the reader can transmit and integrate data with computers, control systems or other external devices.
RFID readers activate and communicate with nearby RFID tags by sending radio signals to the surroundings. When the RFID tag enters the communication range of the reader, it will receive the signal from the reader and respond to its own information wirelessly. After the reader/writer decodes the received tag information, it can read the data stored on the tag and write new information as needed.
The use of RFID reader mainly includes the following steps:
Connecting devices: Connect the RFID reader to a computer or other device for data exchange and control.
Install the software: Install the software and drivers required for the RFID reader on your computer or other device. These software are usually provided by the reader/writer provider and are available from their website or on CD. After installing the software, open the program and check whether the reader is recognized and able to communicate.
Set parameters: Set the parameters of the RFID reader as needed, such as operating frequency, power, identification distance, etc. These parameters can usually be configured through the reader's control panel or software.
Scan tag: Place the RFID tag to be read or written within the antenna range of the reader. The reader sends a signal to the tag and reads the data stored on the tag. If new information needs to be written, the reader can also write data to the tag.
Data processing: The reader/writer converts the read tag information into computer-recognizable data and transmits it to a computer or other device. This data can be used for inventory, asset management, access control, vehicle tracking and other applications.
