Classification of common ordinary resistors

carbon film resistor

Carbon film resistors are made by evaporating and depositing crystallized carbon, which is decomposed under vacuum and high temperature conditions, on a ceramic skeleton. This kind of resistor has good voltage stability and low cost, and is widely used in ordinary electronic products.

Metal Film Resistors

Metal film resistors are made by heating and evaporating metal or alloy materials on a ceramic skeleton under vacuum and high temperature conditions. The resistance value of this type of resistor is also marked by a color circle. It has the advantages of high high temperature resistance, small temperature coefficient, good thermal stability, and low noise. Compared with carbon film resistors, metal film resistors are smaller but more expensive.

Metal Oxide Film Resistors

Metal oxide film resistors are made by depositing a metal salt solution of tin and antimony on a ceramic skeleton through high-temperature spray. This kind of resistor is superior to metal film resistors and has the characteristics of anti-oxidation, acid resistance, and high temperature resistance.

Synthetic Carbon Film Resistors

Synthetic carbon film resistors are made by mixing carbon black, fillers and some organic binders into a suspension, spraying it on an insulating skeleton, and then heating and polymerizing it. Synthetic carbon film resistors are high-voltage, high-resistance resistors that are usually sealed by a glass shell.

Glass glaze resistor

Glass glaze resistors are made by mixing metal oxides such as silver, aluminum, and nail with glass glaze adhesive into a slurry, spraying it on the insulating skeleton, and then polymerizing it at high temperature. This kind of resistor has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, moisture resistance, stability, low noise, and large resistance range. The resistance value is usually marked by the direct marking method.

cement resistor

Cement resistors are resistive devices encapsulated with ceramic and mineral materials. It is characterized by high power, low resistance, and good flame retardant and explosion-proof properties.

row resistor

The row resistor is referred to as the row resistor. This kind of resistor is a combination of multiple discrete resistors arranged according to certain rules into a combined resistor, also called an integrated resistor array or resistor network.

Chip resistor

Chip resistors refer to a fixed resistor installed using surface mount technology. This type of resistor is generally small in size and is mostly used in highly integrated electronic products. To meet the requirements of surface mounting technology, chip resistors are leadless resistors.
