Weebit Nano ReRAM qualified to 125 deg Celsius for auto NVM
This demonstrates the suitability of Weebit ReRAM to be used in MCUs and different automotive parts, in addition to high-temperature industrial and IoT functions.
The qualification, utilizing Weebit’s demo chips manufactured by its R&D associate CEA-Leti, was carried out based mostly on well-known JEDEC business requirements for NVMs. These requirements require the testing of many silicon dies blindly chosen from three impartial wafer tons.
Most chips for client and industrial functions must be certified for as much as 10 years at temperatures between zero and 85 levels Celsius. Superior automotive parts are way more stringent, requiring qualification at larger temperatures for 10 years or longer, with zero failures.
All of the Weebit dies handed the qualification exams at 125 levels Celsius for 10 years retention.
Coby Hanoch, CEO of Weebit Nano, stated: “This achievement is a part of an ongoing course of by way of which we're extending the qualification of our ReRAM know-how to even larger temperatures, longer retention and better endurance ranges. In our discussions with Tier-1 foundries and semiconductor firms, we’re seeing elevated curiosity in our ReRAM for automotive and industrial functions. Proving the resilience of Weebit ReRAM at such excessive temperatures will proceed to maneuver these discussions ahead. We consider ReRAM to be a more sensible choice for automotive and industrial functions in comparison with different rising NVMs not solely due to its excessive temperature efficiency, but additionally its low complexity, value effectiveness, and different benefits reminiscent of tolerance to radiation and electromagnetic interference.”
The Weebit ReRAM demo chip includes a full sub-system for embedded functions, together with the Weebit ReRAM module, a RISC-V microcontroller (MCU), system interfaces, recollections and peripherals. The ReRAM module features a 128Kb 1T1R ReRAM array, management logic, decoders, IOs (Enter/Output communication parts) and error correcting code (ECC). It's designed with distinctive patent-pending analog and digital circuitry working sensible algorithms that considerably improve the reminiscence array’s technical parameters.
Weebit continues to increase the qualification of its ReRAM modules to larger temperature and endurance ranges, each with CEA-Leti and SkyWater Know-how
